One of the most beautiful cities in the world, the city fans out from the sparkling harbour and architectural wonder of the Opera House to iconic Manly Beach, golden Palm Beach in the north, and Australia’s oldest national park in the south. A wonderland of beautiful beaches, historical sites, fabulous shows, delicious restaurants and much more, Sydney is brimming with memorable experiences.

You can experience the world’s oldest living culture on a range of Aboriginal-guided tours. One of the largest public collections of Aboriginal art is in Sydney’s galleries and museums.

You’ll find plenty of exciting things to do in Manly Beach, Sydney’s iconic beach suburb. It has all the cosmopolitan buzz of the city center all with a relaxed coastal vibe. There is world-class surfing but also little coves to explore the underwater life and seawater rock pools.

Simply hop on a ferry at Circular Quay and glide across one of the world’s great natural harbours to Manly. You’ll want to be on the right or starboard side of the Ferry for the best view of the Opera House. Then hop off at the wharf for a short walk to the beach along the Corso, a lively shopping and pedestrian boulevard.

One of the best ways to see the Sydney coast is through a trail network of urban coastal walks. The walking path is designed to do a few sections at a time, all with easy access to public transportation. Our favorite was Shelly Beach to the Spit Bridge walk.

You can also download the AppSydney Culture Walks” to find more coastal trails.
